This will be the eighth year for Clara Acker within the athletic department at B-CU serving as the Secretary to the Director of Athletics. In addition to assisting the Director of Athletics, Acker helps with other areas in and around the athletic department mainframe.

Before arriving at Bethune-Cookman, Acker spent time in a variety of computer-oriented and inner-office management positions, including being an insurance auditor and record's clerk.

She not only knows computers, but has an extensive knowledge of the business world. She has background skills in business administration, accounting and public relations.

Clara Acker is a native of Phoenix City, Alabama, but she has lived in the Daytona Beach area the majority of her life. She even attended Spruce Creek High School in nearby Port Orange. Upon graduation from Spruce Creek HS, she enrolled at Daytona Beach Community College with a specialization in Accounting.

She currently live sin Daytona Beach while sharing the company of her two children in daughter Alexis and son Jordan.
