Ronnie Ash Qualifies for 110m Hurdles Final on Day Three of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field ChampionshipsBethune-Cookman sophomore hurdler is Friday's only competitor for the Wildcats on Day Three of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The turbulent weather of this week has continued today, as the meet has already seen one weather delay as severe, tornado and hail bearing storms pushed through Northwest Arkansas in the early afternoon Friday. They storms are predicted to let up and clear out long before Ash takes the track for the 110m Hurdles semifinal and should not affect the event. Ash is scheduled to compete in the semifinal at 8:05 p.m. EST, which will be televised on CBS College Sports (Brighthouse Networks Channel 106). [+] 6/11/09
Two Wildcats Make Finals on Day Two of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field ChampionshipsToday B-CU had three qualifiers running, each with solid potential to advance to the next round in their respective events. First up, Tavia Burke competed in the women's 100m Hurdles, opening the track events for the day. Shortly thereafter, Indoor All-American Ronnie Ash began his journey toward claiming a national title in the outdoor 110m Hurdles. Wrapping up the preliminaries for the Wildcats, Joel Redhead competed in the 200m Dash. With three high-potential athletes competing, B-CU came away with two final qualifications on the day. Wildcats at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships: Day OneThe Wildcats opened competition Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Two individual athletes and one relay competed for B-CU in today's events, unfortunately garnering no qualifications to the next round, despite cutting it extremely close in the relay. [+] 6/5/09
Six Individuals and One Relay Headed to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field ChampionshipsEight athletes from Wildcat Track & Field will represent Bethune-Cookman at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week in Fayetteville, Ark., at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Competition begins Wednesday (June 10) and runs through Saturday (June 13). Four events for B-CU will have qualifying rounds on the opening day, Wednesday, while the remaining three events have qualifying rounds on Thursday. The Wildcats look to make a strong statement with the largest group at the NCAA Championships under the current coaching staff. Ronnie Ash is also looking to make the sweep of national hurdling titles, after taking the gold in the 60m Hurdles during the indoor season. NCAA Regional Track Championships - Four Wildcats Earn National QualificationThe Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University Track & Field headed into the final day of the NCAA East Regional Meet, Saturday on the campus of North Carolina A&T, looking to capitalize on strong performances Friday and five final qualifications. One Wildcat topped the field and moved on to the NCAA Championships, while several had near misses on qualifying. [+]
