Tallahassee, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman continues to blaze a fury in track & field this spring as two individuals and a team event will make a trip to the finals of tomorrow's NCAA East Regional hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.

"We are just having such good success with this program this year with the newcomers that I'm just ready to go to next year right now," stated B-CU second-year head coach Garfield Ellenwood. "That is not to say I'm not excited about tomorrow, but just that the people doing well today will be even better next year. I'm just really excited right now."

After winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship in the 1100m hurdles, freshman sensation Ronnie Ash posted the fastest time in the NCAA East Regional on Friday with a time of 13.60 seconds. That moves him into the finals tomorrow with a chance to go to Des Moines, Iowa in two weeks for the NCAA Championships.

Also performing well was junior Dianne Munroe with a 11.50 second time in the 100m dash to finish sixth. She'll be starting seventh going into the finals.

The women's 4x100 meter relay squad will also be heading into the finals tomorrow as they collected a school-record 44.66 second time on Friday.

"The relay squad is looking good going into tomorrow, and both Dianne and Ronnie were outstanding today," expressed Ellenwood. "We had some people not do that well today, but we'll work that out. This is a great starting point, and like I said ... I'm just so excited about the future here [B-CU] with what I saw today."

Eric Cray had a false start in the 400m hurdles, while teammate Harold Rose, Jr. had just a leap of 7.19m (3-07.25) in the men's long jump.

The three finalsists will finish up tomorrow as action runs through Saturday, May 31. For more information and live scoring, please visit www.Seminoles.com.
