2008-2009 B-CU Team Award Winners Announced
 
The 2008-2009 B-CU Athletic teams were hosted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Bethune-Cookman University Athletic Department at team banquets held Monday and Tuesday night in the Wildcat Lounge. Each sports designated award winners and head coaches gave their summaries of the season. Spring sports are still competing with MEAC Championships upcoming in track and field, (this weekend) softball (May 7-10), baseball (May 14-17) and golf competes at the Minority National Championships in Port St. Lucie (May 8-10).

MEAC Announces Academic Award Winners For 2008-2009
 
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA., - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2009 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, recognizing 593 student-athletes from the conference's 12 member institutions who achieved academic success during the 2008-09 academic school year. The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. "I congratulate and commend the student-athletes who have achieved academic success by maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2008-09 school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would further like to congratulate the coaches, institutions, and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes success."

Cross Country Teams Take 11th at MEAC Championships
Bethune-Cookman University cross country closed out the year with an 11th place finish for both the men's and women's teams Saturday morning at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md. Redshirt sophomore Alexandria Condell led all Wildcat runners, finishing 14th overall and named to the All-MEAC team. [+]

Men Place 10th and Women Place 11th at Hatter Cross Country Invitational
Friday at the Stetson Hatter Invitational, the men placed 10th among all teams with William Cosby placing 59th overall in the 8k, with a time of 31:47. The women finished 11th among all teams, led by Alexandria Condell, who finished 24th in the 5k, with a time of 21:05 [+]

Men Place 10th and Women Place 11th at Flrunners.com Invitational
The Bethune-Cookman Cross Country teams continued to run well this week as the men placed 10th and the women placed 11th in the Flrunners.com Invitational 9, Oct. 4 at Chain of Lakes Park. William Cosby continued to lead the men, individually placing 51st, while redshirt sophomore Alexandria Condell ran strong, placing 22nd. [+]

Wildcat Cross Country Competes in Annual ERAU/Smoothie King Classic
Bethune-Cookman University men's and women's cross country teams completed their fourth meet of the 2008 season, Saturday, Sept. 20, competing in the annual Embry-Riddle/Smoothie King Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. So far, the performances of two freshman have led the team each meet in the 2008 season. [+]
