Redshirted in his first and only year at the University of South Carolina • All-County (Volusia) as a junior and senior at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach • All-Region performer as a junior and senior • Selected to the 5-A (AAAAA) All-State Team during his senior season • Tallied 186 tackles, 15 quarterback sacks and three interceptions during his junior campaign • Totaled 148 tackles, seven forced fumbles, four interceptions and 16 sacks in his senior season • Tabbed as the Mainland Lifter of the Year as a junior and senior • Named as the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year for the Buccaneers as a junior and senior • A member of the 2003 FHSAA State Championship team under coach John Maronto.
