2006 (Redshirt Freshman)...

Adam Ward stepped right into the shoes of the departed Davis Player and performed marvelously in his first year handling the punting duties for the Wildcats • Played in 10 games for the Wildcats while collecting the starting duties in nine of those games • Served as the only punter for Bethune-Cookman in 2006 • Failed to record a punt against South Carolina State and North Carolina A&T while the Wildcats did not attempt a punt for the entire contest • Posted 39 punts for 1,401 yards during the 2006 campaign • Averaged 35.9 punts per contest as a redshirt freshman • Had two punts roll into the end zone for touchbacks while eight others were downed inside the 20 yard line • Six punts downed on fair catches • Had one kickoff against North Carolina A&T for 57 yards in a nationally-televised contest on ESPNU • Registered two punts for 74 yards (37.0 avg.) against Southern in the Gateway Classic • Averaged 44.8 yards per kick at Morgan State where he collected 179 yards on four punts • Punted seven times for a season-high 235 yards on Homecoming against Winston-Salem State, as well as a long of 42 yards • Averaged 33.6 yards per kick against the Rams • Had 213 yards of yardage against Florida A&M in the Walt Disney World Florida Classic in Orlando, Fla. • Averaged 42.6 yards per punt on five punts with his longest of punt of the year coming in that game on a 64-yarder • Also had a 52-yard punt against Delaware State in Daytona Beach.

2005 (Redshirt)...

Ward redshirted in his first season at Bethune-Cookman.

Mandarin High School...

Played his high school football for the Mustangs of Mandarin High School • Started on the varsity football, soccer and track & field squads since his freshman year • Named as an All-District performer on the gridiron for football and on the soccer field • An All-County and All-State selection in soccer as well • Made official visits to Clemson, Mississippi State and Florida before coming to Bethune-Cookman College.

Personal...

Born to parents Mel and Pamela Ward on Oct. 25, 1985 in his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla. • Working towards a degree in Pre-Med, hopefully to become an Orthopedic Surgeon one day • Wants to contribute the most he can for the B-CU Family while playing football • Enjoys cars, going fishing and playing soccer in his spare time • His father and mother have been the biggest athletic influences in his life because they have always been there for him, and pushed him to pull out the best he had within all the time.
