2008-2009 B-CU Team Award Winners Announced
 
The 2008-2009 B-CU Athletic teams were hosted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Bethune-Cookman University Athletic Department at team banquets held Monday and Tuesday night in the Wildcat Lounge. Each sports designated award winners and head coaches gave their summaries of the season. Spring sports are still competing with MEAC Championships upcoming in track and field, (this weekend) softball (May 7-10), baseball (May 14-17) and golf competes at the Minority National Championships in Port St. Lucie (May 8-10).

MEAC Announces Academic Award Winners For 2008-2009
 
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA., - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2009 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, recognizing 593 student-athletes from the conference's 12 member institutions who achieved academic success during the 2008-09 academic school year. The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. "I congratulate and commend the student-athletes who have achieved academic success by maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2008-09 school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would further like to congratulate the coaches, institutions, and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes success."

Wildcats Dual With Navy At Home Thursday
To accomodate Navy's Spring Break travel schedule, B-CU (7-12) hosted the Midshipmen (11-5) in a rare mid-week morning match. There was a rain delay during the doubles, but the skies cleared and temperatures rose near 80 for the non-conference dual match. The Mids edged B-CU 7-0 in the dual match in Daytona Beach. [+]

Coach Bogue Wins Milestone 200th Career Match
Eighth-year B-CU men's and women's tennis coach Trey Bogue earned his milestone 200th career coaching win earlier this season -March 1, the women's 7-0 win over Mount St. Mary's. Bogue, a Columbia, South Carolina native, coached at Augusta State University and Limestone College prior to B-CU. [+]

Wildcat Tennis With Three Matches This Week - Sunday vs. Cleveland State
Since March 1, the men's tennis team has played 10 matches (winning 6 of them) in 14 days and play Cleveland State University, Sunday at the City Island Tennis Center. B-CU hosts Lipscomb, 2 p.m. on Tuesday and will play Navy, Friday, 3 p.m. in Jacksonville. [+]

WILDCATS BEAT SIENA COLLEGE (NY) 5-2 FOR FIRST TEAM WIN OF 2009 SEASON
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - B-CU's men's tennis team beat Siena College (NY) 5-2 on Tuesday at the City Island Tennis Center. It was Bethune-Cookman's (1-5) first win of the 2009 season and pleased Coach Trey Bogue. "It was a good team effort by everybody and especailly good for Vitor (Belucci) and Greg (Streat) winning their first collegiate matches for us," said Bogue. [+]
