B-CU Women's Basketball Signs Three
 
The Bethune-Cookman University Women's Basketball program would like to announce the signing of three new Lady Wildcats for the 2009-2010 season. With only two seniors on last years' team, the three recruits, one guard and two post players, will add to and compliment a solid core of returning talent for the upcoming season.

MEAC Announces Academic Award Winners For 2008-2009
 
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA., - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2009 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, recognizing 593 student-athletes from the conference's 12 member institutions who achieved academic success during the 2008-09 academic school year. The team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. "I congratulate and commend the student-athletes who have achieved academic success by maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2008-09 school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would further like to congratulate the coaches, institutions, and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes success."

2008-2009 B-CU Team Award Winners Announced
The 2008-2009 B-CU Athletic teams were hosted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Bethune-Cookman University Athletic Department at team banquets held Monday and Tuesday night in the Wildcat Lounge. Each sports designated award winners and head coaches gave their summaries of the season. Spring sports are still competing with MEAC Championships upcoming in track and field, (this weekend) softball (May 7-10), baseball (May 14-17) and golf competes at the Minority National Championships in Port St. Lucie (May 8-10). Lady Wildcats Knocked Out of MEAC Basketball Tournament by Howard
The Lady Wildcats finished off the 2008-09 season Tuesday afternoon as they faced off with Howard in the MEAC Basketball Championships. After getting off to a strong start in today's game, the momentum turned against the Lady Wildcats late in the first half and the Lady Bison of Howard took control of the game, never to surrender it. Despite a season that showed clear signs of a turn-around by first-year Head Coach Vanessa Inge, the Lady Wildcats were knocked out of the conference tournament, losing to Howard, 64-43. [+]

MEAC Sets Seedings For Women's Basketball Tournament
Very early on Friday, The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced its women's pairings for the 2009 MEAC Basketball Tournament, March 9-14 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (LJVM) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. North Carolina A&T clinched the tournament's top seed after concluding the regular-season with a 15-1 mark in MEAC play. The Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats were seeded ninth in the tournament and are scheduled to face eighth-seed Howard on Tuesday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. [+]

Lady Wildcats Fall to FAMU on Senior Day
The Lady Wildcats got off to a strong start on Senior Day at Bethune-Cookman, grabbing an early game lead and maintaining control throughout much of the game. However, a second-half run only six minutes in pushed the Lady Rattlers on top. FAMU was able to pull away late and down B-CU 57-50. Leading the Lady Wildcats in scoring was Euneshia Proctor, who finished with 19 points, as the only Lady Wildcat in double-figures. Proctor also took charge on the glass, leading the team in rebounds. [+]
