Daytona Beach, Fla. - The University of Texas at El Paso was too much for Bethune-Cookman University in women's tennis action on Monday in a non-conference contest held at the City Island Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach, Fla.

UTEP (9-7) took control of the match early with a sweep of the doubles point to jump ahead 1-0.

Others playing well for the Maroon and Gold were Andrea Paez at the No. 2 position as she fell to the Miners' Megan Pritchard 6-4, 6-1. And B-CU sophomore Jeneice Ward performed nicely in the No. 3 spot for the `Cats though she fell in straight sets to Ximena Fuentes 6-4, 6-0.

The next match for the Wildcats will be a home contest against the University of Delaware on Apr. 1 at 1 p.m. back at the City Island Tennis Complex. For more information, please call the B-CU Office of Sports Information at (386) 481-2206.
